No. Lab-created moissanite still requires manufacturing, and manufacturing uses resources. The key distinction is that the gemstone itself does not need to be extracted through a traditional gemstone mining operation.
Why doesn't STDIAM publish one fixed water-saving figure per carat? +
Water use can vary considerably depending on location, extraction method, production system, recycling practices and what an environmental study includes. We therefore avoid presenting a broad industry estimate as though it were a measured STDIAM product-specific figure.
